Getting Started with Airogel CMS
What Airogel CMS is, how to create an account and pick a plan, and what your new site contains.
What Airogel CMS is
Airogel CMS is a hosted content management system. You sign up, choose a plan, and get a live website. The dashboard, the API and your site are all hosted by Airogel.
- Structured content: collections group your content, blueprints define its fields (14 field types), and entries hold the content itself. See Content Modeling.
- Liquid theming: pages are rendered from Liquid templates that you edit in the browser. See Liquid Templates.
- URL routing: each collection has a URL pattern, and you can add paginated index pages, redirects and a home page. See Routing.
- REST API at
https://api.airogelcms.com/v1for reading and writing content from your own code. See API Overview. - MCP server at
https://api.airogelcms.com/v1/mcp, so AI assistants such as Claude or Cursor can manage your site. See MCP Integration. - Forms that save submissions as entries and can notify you by email. See Form For Tag.
- Events with dates, locations and ticket types, shown on your site. See Events & Registrations.
- Constituent CRM and member portal for the people your organisation works with (donors, members, volunteers, attendees), with a sign-in portal on your own site. See Constituents & CRM.
- Custom domains with automatic HTTPS. See Custom Domains.
- RSS and JSON feeds, plus a sitemap and robots.txt for every site. See Feeds.
What you need
- An email address to create your account.
- A payment method for a subscription. Some plans start with a free trial.
You don't need any local software. You can edit templates and content in the dashboard, through the API, or with an AI assistant. If you prefer to build themes on your own machine, Liquiditor is an optional local preview tool.
Get started
- Create an account at app.airogelcms.com/registration/new. Enter your name, email, a password and a name for your account, and accept the terms. If a teammate invited you, use the link in your invitation email instead.
- Choose a plan at app.airogelcms.com/pricing. Checkout is a Stripe payment form inside the dashboard. The dashboard sends you back to the pricing page until your account has an active subscription.
- Open your site. Your site is live at
https://<subdomain>.airogelcms.com. The subdomain is generated from your account name plus a short random suffix, for exampleacme-qwrt. New sites start with a working theme and some starter content (listed below). - Edit your content in the dashboard. Change the starter pages, replace the sample news posts, and adjust the theme templates and
site.cssto match your brand. - Add a custom domain under Settings → Domains. You add a TXT record to prove you own the domain, then point the domain at Airogel. HTTPS certificates are issued for you. See Custom Domains.
- Optional: connect code or an AI assistant. Create an API token under Settings → API Tokens to use the REST API. To connect an MCP client, add
https://api.airogelcms.com/v1/mcpas a custom connector and sign in with OAuth, or create a personal token under Settings → OAuth Logins. See MCP Integration.
