Plans & Billing

Airogel CMS plans and prices, what each includes, and how to subscribe, change plans, cancel and get receipts.

Overview

Every Airogel CMS account needs an active subscription. You choose a plan on the Pricing page, pay through Stripe, and manage your subscription on the Billing page of the dashboard. You can also start a subscription from the REST API or an AI assistant over MCP.

Plans

PlanMonthlyYearlySetup fee
Base$19 / month$199 / yearNone
Premium$49 / month$499 / yearNone
Creator$49 / month$499 / year$999 one-time

Prices are in USD. The Pricing page in the dashboard always shows the current prices. Tax is added at checkout where it applies.

What each plan includes

Base

  • Website hosting
  • Custom domain support (see Custom Domains)
  • Link-in-bio page
  • Contact forms
  • Unlimited pages and updates
  • Email support

Premium: everything in Base, plus:

  • In-app AI chat assistant
  • AI content suggestions
  • AI-powered editing
  • Priority email support

Creator: everything in Premium, plus:

  • Visual site builder (Creator Mode)
  • Advanced customization
  • Dedicated support

The REST API and the MCP server are available on every plan.

Free trials

No plan currently includes a free trial. If a plan offers one later, the Pricing page will show it (for example "14-day free trial"). Trials apply only to an account's first subscription. If there is no payment method on file when a trial ends, the subscription is paused until you add one.

What happens without a subscription

WhereBehavior
DashboardRedirects to the Pricing page with "Please subscribe to a plan to continue."
REST APIAccount content endpoints return HTTP 402 with { "error": "Active subscription required. Please subscribe at …" }
MCPTools return a payment_required error

A few endpoints work without a subscription so you can subscribe from code: plans, account creation, subscription checkout and subscription status.

Subscribing in the dashboard

  1. Open Pricing (or Billing → View plans) and switch between monthly and yearly.
  2. Choose a plan. Stripe Checkout opens inside the dashboard.
  3. Enter your payment details, and a promotion code if you have one. You'll also need to accept the Terms of Service.
  4. After payment you're returned to the dashboard. Your subscription usually becomes active within a few seconds.

For the Creator plan, the one-time setup fee is charged together with your first payment.

Managing your subscription

Go to Billing in the dashboard sidebar. Only account admins can view or change billing.

  • Change plan: switch between plans or between monthly and yearly billing.
  • Payment method: opens the Stripe customer portal, where you can update your card and see your Stripe invoices.
  • Cancel: stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the current billing period. If a payment is past due, cancellation takes effect immediately.
  • Resume: until a cancelled subscription's period ends, the Billing page shows Resume in place of Cancel, along with the date it will end. Resuming restarts renewals on the same plan, with no new checkout.
  • Billing settings: set a billing email that gets a copy of every receipt (the account owner always gets one), and add extra billing details (such as a company name, address or tax ID) to show on your emailed receipts.
  • Receipts and invoices: every charge is listed with a downloadable PDF Receipt and Invoice.

Subscribing through the API or MCP

Payment details are always entered on a Stripe-hosted page. Your code or assistant gets a checkout link, a person completes payment in a browser, and then you confirm the subscription is active.

REST API

MethodPathPurpose
GET/v1/plansList plans (id, name, tier, amount, interval, trial_period_days, has_setup_fee, setup_fee_cents, features)
POST/v1/accounts/:account_id/subscription/checkoutCreate a checkout link. Body: plan (plan ID, required), success_url and cancel_url (optional).
GET/v1/accounts/:account_id/subscription/statusCheck whether the account is subscribed

All three are under https://api.airogelcms.com and use your API token (Authorization: Bearer <token>).

curl -X POST https://api.airogelcms.com/v1/accounts/acct_XXXXXXXX/subscription/checkout \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $AIROGEL_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{ "plan": "plan_XXXXXXXX" }'

# => { "checkout_url": "https://checkout.stripe.com/c/pay/cs_..." }

Open checkout_url in a browser to finish payment. Then check the status:

{
  "subscribed": true,
  "plan": { "id": "plan_XXXXXXXX", "name": "Premium", "tier": "premium",
            "interval": "month", "amount_cents": 4900, "currency": "usd" },
  "subscription": { "id": "sub_XXXXXXXX", "status": "active", "trial_ends_at": null,
                    "current_period_end": "2026-10-25T00:00:00Z", "cancel_at_period_end": false }
}

MCP tools

  • plans_list: lists available plans and their IDs.
  • subscriptions_checkout: takes account_id, plan_id and optionally success_url and cancel_url, and returns a checkout_url to open in a browser. Needs the subscriptions:write scope.
  • subscriptions_status: confirms whether the account is subscribed.

Activation timing

Once Stripe confirms payment, the subscription becomes active, usually within a few seconds. If status still returns "subscribed": false right after checkout, wait a moment and check again.

Plan changes, cancelling, resuming and payment-method updates are only available on the dashboard's Billing page.
